A tragic incident has shaken the community as Fungai Quintone Tawengwa, 46, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, journalist Cordelia Masalethulini, 45. Cordelia’s body was found on Domboshava Road in Borrowdale early Monday morning. The couple had been drinking at Helensvale Shopping Centre on Sunday evening and later visited a friend’s home in Borrowdale, where they had another disagreement .
According to residents, Masalethulini initially refused to leave with Tawengwa but eventually departed with him. Police discovered blood stains in one of the rooms at the friend’s house, raising concerns about the events leading to her death. Tawengwa is expected to appear in court today.
Cordelia Masalethulini was a renowned journalist, writer, and actress, known for her work with eNCA, ZiFM Stereo, and ZBC. Her sister, Brita Masalethulini, is a former Miss Zimbabwe and Miss Malaika.
