Prosper Padera is a 19 year old defensive midfielder for the Warriors.
Born in Bocha, Manicaland, Padera currently plays for Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (commonly known as SJK), a club that plays in the highest tier of the football league in Finland.
Padera lost his mother at a young age, leaving his unemployed father to raise him as a single dad in their home in Chikwariro Village in Marange district. His father recognized his son’s footballing talent and took him to Mutare and introduced him Mutare-based academy, MAJESA.
Padera’s father passed away two weeks later in 2021 whereupon he was adopted by MAJESA co-directors, Charles and Nomsa Chave.
Padera played for MAJESA in the prestigious Marvelous Nakamba Foundation Under-17 invitational tournament in Bulawayo in June 2022. Padera was crowned “Player of the Tournament” owing to his outstanding midfield performance. He was immediately scouted by Prime Time Academy which was established in Harare by former Southampton striker, Dexter Blackstock.
Prime Time Academy granted Padera a full scholarship to enrol at Brooke House College Football Academy in the United Kingdom.
Padera captained England Universities during the 2023 and 2024 editions of the International Colleges World Cup in Morocco.
In December 2024, Padera secured a four-year-deal with Finnish top-flight side, Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK).
In June 2025, he represented Zimbabwe in the COSAFA Cup, earning the Man of the Match award in a 0–0 draw against Mauritius. Padera was also called up to the Zimbabwe senior national team for World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda in August 2025.
From the dusty, diamond-rich village of Marange, to playing at Nakamba’s junior tournament, to playing beside him in the men’s senior national team, Padera embodies the true Warrior spirit of Zimbabwe.
