Authorities have finally removed the car in which three children were found dead in Kuwadzana Extension, following growing public distress and calls for its clearance.

The vehicle, which had become a painful reminder of the tragedy, was towed away by police after weeks of community pressure. Residents described the car as “cursed” and said its presence at the scene was reopening emotional wounds for families in the area.

The tragedy dates back to October 2025, when three children went missing in Kuwadzana Extension, Harare. After several days of frantic searching, their bodies were discovered in the boot of a parked car on a Friday — a discovery that sent shockwaves through the community.

Since the heartbreaking incident, the Kuwadzana community has been mourning the loss and demanding answers. Police confirmed that a full investigation is underway, and the bodies were taken for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.

Authorities have reassured residents that there are no new reports of missing children in Kuwadzana Extension, and investigations into the October tragedy are continuing.

The removal of the vehicle marks a significant step toward healing for the local community, many of whom have been traumatized by the lingering presence of the car at the scene.

Ward 44 Councillor Adonia Shoko welcomed the police’s decision, saying the move was a major relief for residents and parents still mourning the loss.

“The community has been deeply affected by this tragedy. Removing the vehicle is a small but important step toward helping residents heal,” he said.
